In December of 2022, I was able to attend a two week study abroad trip to Italy studying Italian art and decorative design. Visiting both Florence and Rome, my two weeks abroad consisted of visiting numerous galleries, museums, famous architecture and sculpture, and of course finding ways to incorporate my experience into my art. Going abroad helped my perspective on art and design widen, as well as my ideas and approach to projects expand. Featured to the right are just some of many photographs taken during my trip.
Below are two screen-printed pieces of art inspired by my time in Italy – the print on the left is a recreation of Venus from the "Birth of Venus" by Boticelli, while the print on the right is a four color, modern approach to a landscape image of ruins from the Roman Forum titled "Graffiti of Rome."
